Download iOS for Apple devices free

Recently in the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2010, held in San Francisco, United States, Apple introduced new operating system by name IOS. This new OS offers about 100 feature updates of previous operating systems and with more multitasking features. This OS can be downloaded free of charge for the devices iPad, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and the iPod touch second and third generation 32GB and 64 GB version.

Also called as Apple iOS 4 already making the internet on fire with its launch ,  here are some of the hot new features of the iOS 4 :

The multitasking feature.
Steve Jobs demonstrated the multitasking feature by displaying services such as Pandora and navigation running in the background while other apps were also running in the foreground.

iAd feature
This now solves the problem by getting the interactive adds delivered to their iPhone rather than navigating to their webpage to see the add therefore the user at no point leaves the app and hence gets to see only the app that he wished and not the ads present in it.

Stacking up of Apps
This is another cool advanced function coming with the iOS 4.0 with the ability to organize apps. You can now stack up apps relating to same features together and try out different apps whenever you need to access them. Also are other features like mail-integration by which one can view all the mails in all the accounts at one place and then there is the support for Bluetooth keyboard with the phone.

MORE customizations :
For checking mails on iPhone , users just need one integrated inboxand can easily open an email attachment using third-party applications. IOS platform will also support customizations making iTunes playlists, tap-to-focus video, the camera’s zoom function of up to five times, and features photo named ‘Faces and Places’.

These killer features would surely envy Android and Windows as most of the ideas are somewhat inspired from them . Better you download this OS for more features and security updates .

Get Free SMS when you recieve emails on Hotmail

Hotmail is the first email services provider which has started free email to sms facility . There were some tricks in order to get free sms from Gmail , hotmail and Yahoo mail with tweaking options and setting another account like way2sms in order to get free sms when someone send you an email  ! Yahoo provided this for premium users but Hotmail now has started this feature to everyone including India !
US , UK were one of the early nations where this facility was provided and recently Microsoft has added SMS support to Hotmail for Hotmail , Live , MSN users living in varied nations .
Microsoft said,
“With this fun and simple service, you can forget about going to the cyber cafe or logging on to your computer every time you want to check your mails . You can now receive, read and reply to emails on your SMS. The service also enables efficient viewing of emails by specifying the email address/domain from which you’d like to receive alerts on your SMS”
Right now for Indians this service can be enabled from any mobile network carrier including  Aircel, Bharti Airtel, BSNL, Idea, Loop Mobile, MTNL Delhi, MTNL Mumbai, MTS, Reliance (CDMA), Reliance (GSM), Tata Indicom, Tata Docomo, Uninor and Vodafone Essar customers.
However you just get a summary and Subject of email and if you want to read next part you need to SMS and that's not free [ Just like Facebook ] . Still , its not premium too , as SMS is not national and you get  local charges while incoming messages are completely free of cost !
Here are a complete list of shortcuts that will greatly be of help :

  • View Inbox — I
  • Compose an email — C (Recipient email address) (Type message)
  • Read an email — (Type message number) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc.
  • Read more of an e-mail — M
  • Reply to an e-mail — R (Type message)
  • Delete an e-mail — D
  • Forward an e-mail — F (Recipient email address)
  • Read next e-mail — N
  • Read previous e-mail — P
  • Turn alerts off — STOP
  • Turn alerts on — A ON

Even if you forget these commandes , simply type the letter H and send it to the Hotmail Service Number. You will receive an SMS reply listing all the above mentioned Hotmail SMS commands.

* Keyboard & Mouse

PC Specific Features:

* Save your player stats to a HTML file, which can be put on the internet and shared with others.
* Photos taken with the in-game camera can be exported as .JPG screenshot files.
* Rockstar have claimed the "modding community will be supported." Specifically in what ways is yet to be seen.

A great part of the PC version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the possiblity to modify it: Rockstar claims to have left important game data files unlocked and in text files as opposed to hard-coding them in the game. Although Rockstar lists "player modifications support" as a feature, it's safe to assume that Rockstar will not be providing any game editors with the game, and we can expect to be able to import additional player skins, probably in the form of clothes. Player models are at the moment split into around 10 different pieces, with two of each for different fitness levels. As such, player skins as seen in GTA Vice City are unlikely, unless we are provided with a custom slot with a single static mesh skin. Bear in mind that this is simply speculation at this point, as nothing solid has been confirmed yet.

It was decided that the PC version of San Andreas will not have an inbuilt 2-player mode as "the dual keyboard and mouse set up proved too unwieldy for players and didn't work with the PC version of San Andreas' greatly improved free camera mechanics. Rockstar North decided to focus on maximizing the single player experience."

Mortal Kombat Ultimate

Thousands of years ago in a battle with the fallen Elder God known as Shinnok, I was responsible for the death of an entire civilization.
To rid all realms of Shinnok's menace I waged a war that plunged the Earth into centuries of darkness and banished Shinnok into a place called the Netherealm.
Now after Shao Kahn's defeat at the hands of Earth's warriors, Shinnok has managed to escape his confines in the Netherealm.
The war is now being fought once again. Only this time It can be won by mortals.

Search Engine Google Tricks

Having a hard time finding something online? Does it seem like you type in your search term but don't get anywhere near what you're looking for?
Well, here's a couple tricks that seem (almost) universal between search engines.
Let's say you're looking for sports cars and all you're getting is information on baseball and football (sports). What can you do? Try some of the following:
1. Try:
sports +cars
Most search engines will interpret this as meaning you only want results that have both the word "sports" and "cars" in them. Some search engines let you us the word "and" to do this as well (i.e. sports and cars).
2. You can also try to exclude terms. Let's say you still aren't getting what you want with sports cars (you still keep getting baseball info). Try something like:
sports +cars -baseball

The "-" sign tells most search engines to exclude results that have whatever word it is that has the "-" in front of it. (Don't put a space between the - and the word to be excluded though!)
3. If the above seems too confusing, most search engines have an "advanced search" option that gives you a web-style way to help you accomplish the same thing. Instead of using "+ / -" they use drop down boxes and option buttons. It is usually easier to search this way, although it's probably faster to use steps 1 & 2.
4. The next thing you might try is being more specific. Instead of just sports cars, maybe use exotic sports cars. Try different combinations of search terms until you get what you're after. (Careful with that word "exotic" though!)
5. Also, you may want to try using quotes. If you type in:
"sports cars"

You should only get results that match that exact phrase in that exact order. Sometimes that can narrow things down considerably.

There are thousands of search engines out there and not all of them support the tips I have shown you today. If you're having trouble, look for a link for search tips, search help, advanced search, or how to search. Most search engines have lots of information on how to use them successfully.

How to increase the performance of computer using Disk Defragmenter?

This utility program is used to re-organize the files and un-used space on the hard disk, so that operation system can access data more quickly and easily. When operating system stores data on the disk, it stores the data in the first available sector on the disk. In this case data of a file is stored on disk in a scattered form; it is referred to as “File is fragmented”. The fragmentation slows down the data accessing speed of computer. You can improve the performance of your computer by de-fragmenting your hard disk.  In De-fragmentation process, the data of each file is stored in continuous sectors. There are many third party software’s available in market for this purpose but you can use windows built-in utility program called Disk Defragmenter. To start disk defragmenter utility, first make sure all running program are closed.
To run disk defragmenter utility, go to the Start button and type dfrg.msc in Run option then press ok. Now here a disk defragmenter window will appear. Select any drive and press defragmenter button. If you have a large hard disk, this process can take several hours. I recommend you doing this after one month if you want to improve the performance of your computer.

Tips & Tricks of Nokia

Below are various TIPSnTRICKS based on the Nokia mobile phones. Different ones will work for different models, but most of them will work for all models.
To check the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) Type-
*#06#
Information you get from the IMEI-
XXXXXX  XX  XXXXXX  X     TAC      FAC     SNR      SP
  • TAC = Type approval code
  • FAC = Final assembly code
  • SNR = Serial number
  • SP    = Spare
To check the phones Software revision type-
*#0000#
Information you get from the Software revision-
V 05.31
18-02-99

  • Purchase date (MM/YY) You can only enter the date once.
  • Date of last repair (0000=No repair)
  • Transfer user data to another Nokia phone via Infra-Red
Clock Stopping
To check weather your SIM Card supports clock stopping type-
Please not this is not for free calls. This feature is to check weather your sim card supports "Clock Stopping". If your sim does support it, your phone will consume less battery power than if it didn't support it.
*#746025625# (*#SIM0CLOCK#)

Revealing the Headphone and Car-Kit menus
Please note that if you do these next tricks, the new menus can't be erased without retoring the factory default settings. To do these tricks you need to short-circuit the pins on the bottom of the phone next to where you plug in you charger.
1. To activate the "Headset" menu, you need to short-circuit pins "3" and "4". After a short time the word "Headset" will be shown in the display. Menu 3-6 is now enabled.
2. To activate the "Car" menu, you need to short-circuit pins "4" and "5". After a short time the word "Car" will be shown in the display. Menu 3-7 is now enabled.
THE REBOOT TRICK
This should work on all software versions of the 6110.
1. Go to the Calendar (Menu-8)
2. Make a note or reminder.
3. Enter some text into the edit box.
4. Hold "Clear" until the whole text is cleared, then press "Back".
5. Press "0". The main screen will now be showing but a space appears on the screen. (you can't see it)
6. Enter 4 digits (e.g. 1234).
7. Use the down arrow to move the cursor to the left side of the numbers and the space (Down arrow twice).
8. Now enter 6 digits and press the call button.
Wait for a few seconds, the screen should start to flash and reboots. It should alsowork on other menus like the "Profiles" menu.

EFR CALL QUALITY
To activate EFR (Enhanced Fate) Enter the code-
*3370#
This improves call quality but decreases batterylife by about 5%
To deactivate it, Enter the code-
#3370#
THE JAMES BOND TRICK
If you short-circuit theleft middle and right pins on the bottom of the phone with all connections touching each other, the Nokia software hangs! The profile "Headset" will be activated. Before you do this just activate the "Automatic Answer" in the headset profile and set the ringing volume to "Mute". Now you can use your phone for checking out what people are talking about in a room. Just place it under a table in a room and call it. The phone receives the call without ringing and you can listen to what people are saying.
NETWORK MONITOR
There is a hidden menu inside your Nokia phone. If you want to activate it, you'll have to re-program some chips inside of your phone.
  1. Check your software version. You can only continue if you have v4.33, v4.73 or v5.24.
  2. Take apart the phone.
  3. De-solder the EEPROM (ATMEL AT 24C64).
  4. Read out the data with an EEPROM programmer and save it to a file (Backup).
  5. If you have v.33 or v4.73, change the address "03B8" from "00" to "FF".
  6. If you have v5.24 then change the address "0378" from "00" to "FF".
  7. Write the new data to the EEPROM and solder it back to the phone,
  8. Power on your phone and you should have "Netmonitor" enabled.
The Network Monitor gives you the following information.
  • Carrier number
  • MS RX Level in DBM
  • Received signal quality
  • MS TX power level
  • C1 (Path loss criterion, used for cell selection and reselection). The range is -99 to 99.
  • RTL (Radio link timeout).
  • Timeslot
  • Indication of the transmitter status
  • Information on the Network parameters.
  • TMSI (Temporary Mobile Subscriber Identity).
  • Cell identification (Cell ID, Number of cells being used).
  • MCC (Mobile country code)
  • MCN (Mobile network code)
  • LAC (Location area code)
  • Ciphering (On/Off)
  • Hopping (On/Off)
  • DTX (On/Off)
  • Discard cell barred information.
CHECK SIM-LOCK
Note - If you bought your Nokia on UK Vodafone or UK Cellnet you do not need to check this because they both transmit on GSM900, and they don't lock the phones. However if you bought your phone on UK Orange or UK One2one your phone may be blocked. The reason is that they both transmitt on GSM1800. To make a call on GSM1800 you need what is known as a " phone. A dual band phone is able to transmit on both GSM900 and GSM1800, so they lock the phones so you can't use it with any other network simcard. If you find that your phone is locked you can try different software to unlock it. (we havn't found one that works yet), or you can ask your service provider who will gladly exchange the 10 digit code for about £35.
This is how to check the status of the 4 different locks. Aslo don't try entering the wrong number, because after 3 times it will block the phone for good.

There are 4 different locks on your Nokia phone.
  • COUNTRY-LOCK
  • NETWORK-LOCK
  • PROVIDER-LOCK
  • SIMCARD-LOCK
The code to read out the sim-lock status of your phone is

#PW+(MASTERCODE)+(Y)#
  • # = DOUBLE-CROSS
  • W = PRESS "*" THREE TIMES
  • P = PRESS "*" FOUR TIMES
  • + = PRESS "*" TWO TIMES
  • MASTERCODE = 1234567890
  • Y = NUMBER 1 TO 4
The master code is a secret code. The code has 10 digits, To read out the sim-lock status you can enter every combination you want!
"Y" Shows the status of the network-lock. Here you can enter a number from "1" to "4". The "4" is for the sim-card lock.

SIM-LOCK CHECKS
  • #PW+1234567890+1# = GIVES PROVIDER-LOCK STATUS
  • #PW+1234567890+2# = GIVES NETWORK-LOCK STATUS
  • #PW+1234567890+3# = GIVES COUNTRY-LOCK STATUS
  • #PW+1234567890+4# = GIVES SIM-CARD-LOCK STATUS.
VODAFONE "PAY AS U TALK"
If you are on the Vodafone pay as you talk service within the UK, you can check the balance of your friends "Pay as you talk" phone without them even knowing.
What you need to do is very simple indeed, just dial "1345" from your phone. You will then be asked to enter your telephone number. Enter the number of your friends phone, and it tells you how much credit they have left and how many days are remaining.
Remember that both phones need to be on the Vodafone "Pay as you talk" service.

Running CHKDSK

One way to run a chkdsk (this is like Scandisk that was with Win9X), is to
  1. Double click on My Computer
  2. Right click on the drive you want to check
  3. Select Properties
  4. Click on the Tools tab
  5. Click on the Check Now button
  6. Check to Automatically fix file system errors - This is the same as running chkdsk /f
  7. If you want to Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, check that box - This is the same as running chkdsk /R. It can also add a lot of time to the scan
  8. Reboot if necessary
You can also run chkdsk from the command line with will give you more options.
The following switches are available:
/F - fix any errors
/R - identifies bad sectors
/V - with FAT32, displays a verbose output
With NTFS Volumes:
/I - Performs simpler check (stage 2)
/C - Skips the checking of cycles within folder structures
/X - Forces the volume to dismount if necessary.  Intended for server administrators and should be avoided for normal use

Repairing Damaged Winsock2

The symptoms when Winsock2 is damaged shows when you try to release and renew the IP address using IPCONFIG.
And you get the following error message:
An error occurred while renewing interface 'Internet': An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket.
Also Internet Explorer may give the following error message:
The page cannot be displayed Additionally, you may have no IP address or no Automatic Private IP Addressing (APIPA) address, and you may be receiving IP packets but not sending them
.
-----
If you have WindowsXP with Service Pack 2, there is a one line command you can run to reset the winsock2 registry entries
netsh winsock reset catalog
------
There are two easy ways to determine if Winsock2 is damaged:
From the XP source files, go to the Support / Tools directory
Winsock Test Method 1
Run netdiag /test:winsock
The end should say Winsock test ..... passed
Winsock Test Method 2
  1. Run Msinfo32
  2. Click on the + by Components
  3. Click on the by Network
  4. Click on Protocol
  5. There should be 10 sections if the Winsock2 key is ok
MSAFD Tcpip [TCP/IP]
MSAFD Tcpip [UDP/IP]
RSVP UDP Service Provider
RSVP TCP Service Provider
MSAFD NetBIOS [\Device\NetBT_Tcpip...
MSAFD NetBIOS [\Device\NetBT_Tcpip...
MSAFD NetBIOS [\Device\NetBT_Tcpip...
MSAFD NetBIOS [\Device\NetBT_Tcpip...
MSAFD NetBIOS [\Device\NetBT_Tcpip...
MSAFD NetBIOS [\Device\NetBT_Tcpip...
If the names are anything different from those in this list, then likely Winsock2 is corrupted and needs to be repaired.
If you have any 3rd party software installed, the name MSAFD may be changed.
There should be no fewer than 10 sections.
To repair Winsock2
  1. Run Regedit
  2. Delete the following two registry keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock2
Download Reg file to delete these entries
  1. Restart the computer
  2. Go to Network Connections
  3. Right click and select Properties
  4. Click on the Install button
  5. Select Protocol
  6. Click on the Add  button
  7. Click on the Have Disk button
  8. Browse to the \Windows\inf directory
  9. Click on the Open button
  10. Click on the OK button
  11. Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
  12. Click on the OK button
  13. Reboot
Or Download Reg file to add the correct registries back in. Then reboot the computer
